How do you find a good mortgage broker? What should you look for in a mortgage broker? Now, obviously I’m biased but there’s lots of great mortgage brokers in Edmonton and right across the country. First, you should look for is experience. And a second thing that matters in the mortgage world is size. Let me explain:

A person should look for is experience. Check out Google reviews, check out Reddit or Rate My Agent or these sorts of testimonial-based platforms. Talk to family or friends who have used a mortgage broker. What’s interesting in the mortgage world is that size matters. What lenders do is they look at how much volume a brokerage house does and that dictates service levels. It dictates the interest rates we get, what sort of exceptions or, you know, favours on policies that we get. All things being equal. I think it makes sense to go with someone who’s established and with a larger brokerage!
