Looking for some tips on how to move to Alberta? Here are 3 things you should know!

Many, many people are moving from Ontario and BC to Edmonton these days. Because of our lower cost of living, houses are way less expensive here. If you’re planning on making a move to Edmonton or Calgary, or any part of Alberta, there are a few things you need to think about before doing so. With regards to getting a mortgage anyways!

1.) Number one is do you have a job lined up, or are you able to move within your company, or work remotely?

2.) If you’re selling a property, what is the timing going to look like from receiving the proceeds of your sale, and using that towards your down payment on the new property? Bridge financing is a tool that we can use when necessary. It gets a little bit more complicated when you’re going between provinces, but it’s doable.

3.) The third thing, of course, is where are you going to live in this brand new city that you know nothing about, or probably don’t know much about? So I have access to lots of great realtors, and I’m happy to make a recommendation based on where you want to live with a realtor who is very knowledgeable for that specific part of Edmonton.
